Good Skin Care

When you were a kid, did you consider things like taking care of your skin—grooming in general?. Well, when I was young, I'd jump out of bed, put on any old clothes whether they were clean or dirty, and start my day. Sometimes I would take a bath before bed and sometimes I wouldn't. Oh, those care free days. And, practicing good skin care; that was non-existent.

When we're children, our skin is naturally flawless. Of course, those kinds of things went unnoticed at the time. As time goes on and we become teenagers, I'm sure that most of us would love to regain that flawless complexion. Well, with some good skin care tips, it just might be possible.

There are several actions you can take to ameliorate your mug. These tips apply to every skin type—to everyone. Believe it or not, clear, balanced skin starts with your diet. Here are some foods, nutrients and compounds that are a boon to the appearance of your skin:

  • water
  • prune juice
  • flaxseed
  • fiber (vegetables)
  • and omega 3 fatty acids

It should be easy to add these to your daily diet. For omega 3 fatty acids, try fatty and oily fish such as sardines, salmon and even mackerel (an acquired taste). These foods are excellent for your skin and hair.

On a sour note, there are many foods you should avoid like the plague if you're interested in implementing a good skin care regimen. If you're in the habit of cramming down candy—sugary snacks, stop! This bad habit can really throw your skin of balance. The fact of the matter is: those seemingly random breakouts you experience are probably a result of your questionable eating habits. Set a limit to your dubious dietary delights.

Good skin care does not necessarily involve a radical regime. Nature plays an important role. Instead of scrubbing your mug with harsh cleansers three or more times a day, try gently washing your face a maximum of two times per day. Your skin contains natural oils that help keep it moist and smooth. If you clean it too frequently, you'll wash these precious oils away, causing your skin to be dry and irritated; this is bad, especially if you're prone to pimples.

Last, but not least, a great skin care tip is: avoid too much sun— apply sunscreen when venturing outdoors for any length of time. Burnt skin becomes old skin in a short amount of time.
