Best Skin Care Product? It Depends on Your Skin

It may be difficult to find the best skin care product for your particular skin—but not impossible—when the number of choices seems confounding. The cost of some of these concoctions can be downright high; no one wants to purchase a product—any product—only to discover that it won't work for them. The best approach is one that takes into account your type and condition of your skin, and subsequently, what style and amount of 'care' it needs. This is a good starting point and it will give you a realistic idea of which product(s) you should give a try and which ones to pass on.

While going through this thinking process about the best skin care product choices for your face (or body), carefully consider the condition of your skin when applying other stuff; like make-up, for example. Have you ever had a bad reaction to anything—caused your skin break out or something. Consider the possibility of an allergic reaction or, simply, sensitive skin. That probably means that the best product for your daily skin care is one that is exclusively made for sensitive skin types. Most reputable brands offer a version formulated just for sensitive skin. If that describes you, try that first.

What Is the 'Condition' of Your Skin?

The next thing to consider for your skin care regimen is the condition of your skin; what I mean by that is: do you have naturally oily skin, dry skin, or combination skin? Obviously, the most appropriate skin care product for your skin will be one that promises to cater to your specific needs. For example, folks with dry skin will require a strong moisturizer that might have to be applied several times a day.

Oily skin, on the other hand, can be a tougher nut to crack, as many creams or lotions can worsen the problem. But, again, good skin care companies offer great products made just for people with that slippery problem. Combination skin is the trickiest of all, but, with a little searching, you should be able to find something that will work for you.

Trying a Skin Care Product

Now the difficult part. To find out which is the best skin care product for you—once you've narrowed down your choices with the above mentioned processes—you'll have to actually try some of them out. One possibility is to ask friends or acquaintances for their recommendations. However, be forewarned, what works well for them, might not work for you at all. A little secret: ask if you can try some of theirs.

As you can see, you'll most likely find your best skin care product—after the process of elimination—through good, old-fashioned trial and error. Not to worry though, with so many great products on the market, such as Ponds, for example, you'll surely find something available that will work for your skin. Persevere, and you will prevail.
